Use the integral notation to write the indefinite integral of $x^2+5$.

Answer: 

$\int \left(x^2+5\right)\, dx$

Solution: 

Our indefinite integral notation is
\[
\int f(x)dx.
\]
So for this problem we write
\[
\int \left(x^2+5\right)\, dx.
\]

You may also see this written as
\[
\int x^2+5\,dx.
\]
But you should not think of the $dx$ as multiplying only the $5$. It is multiplied by the whole function $x^2+5$. The parentheses are intended to make this clear, but you may oftentimes see them omitted.
